About Rocky River Road ClubThe Rocky River Road Club is a cycling club based in Northern Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
The club consists of racing and social riders whose primary goal is to promote the sport of cycling by encouraging safe and responsible cycling. We sponsor the Annual Polar Bear Metric Century which benefits the Ada Jenkins Community Center as well as the following local organizations. The Celtic dog in our logo symbolizes friendship, courage, and speed. |
Club Philosophy
The RRRC is primarily a social bike club. However, many members compete in USCF sanctioned races. As a social club, our focus is on riding together. Our long training rides therefore have more regrouping than a normal training ride, and often have rest stops which allow members and other riders to socialize. Members of the RRRC are asked to behave on the bike in a fashion which makes other riders look forward to our attendance and participation. Our members are expected to be ambassadors of the club and for the sport of cycling.

Club Membership Policy
Since it's founding in 1996, the RRRC has maintained a referral process for all new members. The intent of this process is to ensure at least two current members get to know a potential new member and explain our club philosophy and service requirement. New members must be nominated and seconded by current club members. Team Member Waiver Form

Dues and Membership Fees
New members are required to pay an initiation fee is $40. Annual membership dues are $10. The annual fee is primarily used to purchase club insurance. In odd years, a portion of the monies accrued from dues, the Polar Bear Metric Century and sponsors, is used to underwrite the cost of club clothing for active members.

Club and Community Service Requirement
